Windows 10 (1809+) or Windows 11 · x64 and ARM64

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on your PC, or click the button below.
  2. Click Install. The app downloads and installs automatically.
  3. Launch Active Now from the Start menu.
  4. The License Activation dialog appears on first launch. Paste the license key from your purchase email.
  5. The app lives in the system tray (bottom-right of the taskbar). It may be hidden under the ^ chevron — drag the icon out to keep it visible.
  6. Right-click the tray icon to access Schedule, Preferences, and About.

Install "Active Now"

Simple drag-and-drop installation, just like any Mac app.

Download the .dmg file

Click the download link from your email. The file is about 5MB.

Open the .dmg file

Double-click the downloaded file. A new window will open.

Drag to Applications

Drag the "Active Now" icon to your Applications folder.

Launch "Active Now"

Open from Applications or use Spotlight (⌘ + Space, type Active Now").

Activate Your License

Enter your license key to unlock the full version.

First Launch

"Active Now" will appear in your menu bar and show a license activation dialog.

Enter License Key

Copy your license key from the email and paste it into the activation dialog.

License key format:

ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP

Activation Complete

Once activated, the dialog will close and "Active Now" is ready to use!

Configure & Start Using

Customize "Active Now" to fit your workflow perfectly.

Quick Start:

  • 1. Click the "Active Now" menu bar icon
  • 2. Click "Stay Active" to prevent idle
  • 3. Set your preferred idle time (30s - 5min)
  • 4. Enable "Start on Login" for convenience

Pro Tips:

  • Use "Pause When Active" to save battery
  • Set different times for different activities
  • Works great with Teams, Slack, and Zoom
  • Check status indicator for peace of mind

Troubleshooting

App won't open?

Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General, then click "Open Anyway" next to the "Active Now" message.

License key not working?

Make sure you're copying the entire key including dashes. Check your internet connection - activation requires online verification.

Still going idle?

Check if "Stay Active" is enabled (purple button). Verify your idle time setting isn't too short for your needs.

Need to uninstall?

Drag "Active Now" from Applications to Trash. Your license remains valid for reinstallation.
