System Requirements

Before installation, ensure your Mac meets these requirements:

Grant Accessibility Permission

"Active Now" needs accessibility permission to simulate tiny mouse movements.

Click "Stay Active" → "Open System Preferences" → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → Check Active Now"

Features & Usage

How to use "Active Now" effectively

3.1

Finding "Active Now"

Look for the pointer cursor icon in your menu bar and click it to open the menu.

3.2

Basic Controls

  • Stay Active/Allow Idle: Toggle protection on/off
  • Prevent idle after: Set timing (30s - 5 min)
  • Schedule: Automatic work-hour activation
  • Settings: Auto-start and notifications

Smart Scheduling

Enable automatic work-hour protection (default: 8 AM - 5 PM weekdays).

Check "Enable Schedule" in the menu, then customize times with "Set Schedule Times..."

Troubleshooting

App won't prevent idle?

Check accessibility permissions in System Preferences → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Ensure "Stay Active" is enabled and you're within scheduled hours.

Can't see menu bar icon?

Look for the pointer cursor icon. If hidden, restart "Active Now" from Applications or check if menu bar is set to auto-hide.

License key not working?

Copy the entire key including dashes. Check internet connection and ensure email matches purchase email exactly.

Permission denied errors?

Remove and re-add "Active Now" in Accessibility settings, then restart the app. For macOS 13+, check both Privacy & Security sections.

Auto-start not working?

Re-enable "Start on Login" in menu. Check Login Items in System Preferences (or General → Login Items on macOS 13+).
